What can we say about our Gaisce trip??
What an amazing time we had. The fact that the staff enjoyed themselves just as much as the students says it all!

We really enjoyed our pizza party and our movie night.
Newgrange - we had a tour with a very informative tour guide. We were amazed to hear that it is over 5,000 years old!
Massive thank you to Colin and Tony for being amazing!
We racked up 400 miles and 8 counties on the bus.....THANK YOU SO MUCH to Tony for driving the bus.

How is it the end of May already? We have so much to pack in to our last two months of the year! Lots of learning outside of the classroom planned (our favourite!).
We got out and about a lot this month. We were very excited to use our bus to head to Ardmore. We did the Cliff Walk and took in all the history and geography of the area.

We got a challenge this month which we had lots of fun with!
Our challenge was to plan, prepare and cook a meal in groups for under €5. We discussed the rules of the challenge and got going planning. We used different websites to get a rough estimate of costings, used our calculators on our phones to do the maths and wrote out a shopping list.

Our next mission was to buy the ingredients in the supermarket. Again, there were some surprises when it came to prices so lots of phone calculations and compromising to be done for the perfect meal.
We tried something new this month which was Pitch and Putt. We really enjoyed it and it is great to do something different.
Another day out and about - we did our annual Spring Clean litter-pick.
What a fabulous day in Abbeyside beach. The litter-pick was a great excuse to stroll on the beach, the boardwalk and through the park.
We are just loving the great weather and fun we are having with each other!

We had an extra special treat for our 18th birthday girl! We had a special trip on the Suirvalley train and a picnic and cake in Mount Congreve gardens. What a fabulous day especially being able to share it with special guests👌😀.
April
Remember we set spinach seeds??? We were so impressed with how fast it grew so we researched different ways which we could use it in cooking. We decided on a nutrient rich vegetable soup and of course crusty rolls to go with it. To say it was devoured was an understatement!
We really have developed green fingers in the class and decided to set more seeds. This time we have peas, cress and tomatoes.
We are so grateful to Paul in Rebike for all the bikes he has given the school. We went to visit his lovely cafe in Abbeyside for a nice treat.
It wouldn't be like us to get out an soak up any sunshine we get! We made a beautiful Rolo chocolate biscuit cake and enjoyed it outside while we read our class novel.
