Delightful December
December is such a fun time here in St. John's. Although this year was a bit different we made the most of it.
We started by getting our classroom decorated....... first up ...... 'Our tree'

We were inspired to make our very own Christmas trees - check out these very cute but simple crafts
We took a trip to the Railway Cottage cafe on the greenway. We enjoyed some yummy treats and afterwards we walked down to the playground. It was a lovely morning out and about.
We made some cute Reindeer photo crafts and Santa paper plate crafts
We took a walk into town to look at the Christmas markets and visit our Leavers class on their stall. We were only delighted to see Mary busking so we stopped and joined her for a song.
We made time in amongst all our festive fun to celebrate a very important birthday. We'd never turn down chocolate cake or a party in Room 3!!!
We took a trip on our school bus to the Festive Forest here in Dungarvan. It was just magical. The elves and Santy were brilliant and not to mention the fabulous reindeer.

We were so lucky here in St. John's - we had not one but 2 visits from Santa Claus. We are all definitely on the good list!!!!

We enjoyed some very special messages from Santy - he knew our names and had our photographs!!

There will be a special 8th birthday over the holidays so we couldn't let that go uncelebrated.......

Getting to know one another.......
Our first theme of the month was 'My Family'. We enjoyed looking at all our family photos and making our family tree craft.
Party time!!!!! We celebrated our first class birthday. We had cake, candles, banners, balloons and of course some dancing. Great fun was had.

Our new giant blocks arrived so we decided to explore them out on the courtyard.
Our next theme of the month was School. We enjoyed making a bus craft for art.

Now its November
We are all settled back after our lovely midterm break. We hope everyone had a great Halloween.
Our first theme to settle us back in was Occupations.
We did a lovely theme song called 'The Job song' where we got to dress up as a tailor, barber, carpenter, policeman, cobbler and postman. We had great fun. Check us out......

We were inspired by yet another song 'Hurry hurry drive the fire truck' and we all wanted to pretend to be a fireman. So our sensory play allowed for squirting the hose, driving the fire truck and putting out the fires!!
We were called upon to create our very own handprints for a school display in our school hallway so we got busy painting our hands and making our very own unique handprints.
Our next theme was Music. We do love music here in Room 3!! Our theme song 'Musical Instruments song' by cocomelon was so much fun.
